The company is not saying how long the outage might last

The development team at EA Sports announces that the console versions of FIFA 14, both current and last-gen, are being affected by connectivity issues for the Ultimate Team mode and an investigation is ongoing at the moment, trying to get to the cause of the issues.

The announcement comes from the official Twitter account of the company and the message does not offer any information on when the trouble might be resolved in order for gamers to be able to once again play the mode.

The fact that the Ultimate Team experience for FIFA 14 is still affected by problems is a testament to the popularity of the mode, which can sometimes overwhelm the infrastructure that EA Sports has created to support it.

The studio has also been delivering new content for the experience, including a separate mode based on the 2014 Brazil World Cup, and weekly new packages with star players are still arriving.

The problem will probably be solved in a few hours.

At the moment, the focus at EA Sports is on FIFA 15, which is set to arrive in late September and will be powered by a new Ignite engine, while also adding a number of unspecified changes for Ultimate Team.
