The development team at EA Sports working on FIFA 14 announces that an important maintenance period for the football simulation will be launched on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony for one hour starting at 9 AM Greenwich Mean Time.

The first players of the title to be affected will be those who have it on the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3, who will get an one-hour downtime period starting at 8 AM GMT.

The company explains in the official announcement that, “During these periods, online services for all game modes will be unavailable. All other platforms will not be affected.”

EA Sports says that it appreciates the patience of gamers as they try to make the video game better and that if the maintenance period needs to be expanded, an official announcement will be made via social media channels.

It’s unclear what, if any, changes to FIFA 14 are being made at the moment and if the development team has a solution for the connection issues that have affected the title.

Recently, gamers have received a free World Cup themed update that can be used in both Kick-Off and in Ultimate Team modes and another roster update has been promised before the start of the real-life World Cup.
