DICE plans to eliminate the problem with a new update

A bug that did not allow the experience and statistics for players to update after multiplayer matches in Battlefield 3 has been linked to just one weapon, the FAMAS.

The official statement from DICE reads, “While we are working to resolve this issue we have also identified what can cause this problem to occur. This issue only affects games in which a player uses the FAMAS weapon. In any game where the FAMAS is used there is a chance that player stats and experience will not be recognized after the game.”

Gamers are encouraged to avoid it during competitive battles and to tell other players about the problem.

Apparently, DICE lacks a clear measure to eliminate the bug at the moment, yet it claims that the FAMAS issue is a temporary one.

The development team is currently preparing to launch a Battlefield Premium option and needs to make sure that the game is bug free before actually launching it.
