The development team at Splash Damage announces that it is working on a new video game called Extraction, which will be published in partnership with Nexon and seems to use a number of concepts that were originally part of the Dirty Bomb project.

The teaser site for the title talks about a mysterious terror-based attack against London and about teams of mercenaries that are fighting over the ruins of the city in order to control territory and resources.

The studio wants to create a wide array of classes for the player to use, allowing them to snipe from afar, get right into the action, assault enemy positions, or support teammates.

Extraction is set to use a free-to-play business model and Splash Damage says that the entire experience will be skill-based and that complex metrics will be tracked to create game balance.

Many of the details are similar to those of the previous Dirty Bomb project, which now seems to be abandoned.
