Chris Ashton, the design director working on Evolve at Turtle Rock, says that much of the success of the video games will be linked to the studio’s ability to create balanced scenarios that take into account all the choices that players can make for their characters.

He tells Polygon that, “Getting the right balance is the challenge. You have the monster and the hunters all in different varieties and lots of ways for them all to be played.”

Evolve allows four of the involved players to work together and use their special abilities and weapons in order to take out a fifth one, who controls a powerful monster that can get access to special attacks as he gains experience.

The title will also include a single-player campaign and launch will take place on the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the PC before the end of 2014.
