Turtle Rock Studios has just started the closed alpha test phase of its upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer shooter Evolve, so in case you registered during the last few weeks, you would do well to check your inbox.

The developer has announced that alpha codes are being mailed out to select users on the PC platforms, in preparation for this weekend's test phase.

Evolve's alpha is live now and will end on August 3, at 8:00 PM PST / August 4, 3:00 AM GMT. If you didn't get in this time, there's no need to worry, as Turtle Rock Studios has already confirmed that there will be more testing stages leading to the game's release, and there will even be a beta organized for the Xbox One platform, as the company promised during E3 2014.

The bad thing about the alpha is that players participating in it have to agree to a non-disclosure agreement preventing them from sharing any details, so there won't be too much Evolve footage floating on the Internet.

In any case, some details are sure to leak, and we'll keep our eyes and ears open and come back with them as soon as they're available.

The shooter is scheduled to come out on October 21, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
