Evolve, the multiplayer shooter released by Turtle Rock Studios and 2K Games earlier this year is set to receive a brand new free update today, May 26, worldwide across all platforms, adding a brand new game mode called Arena.

Evolve promised to deliver a thrilling 4v1 multiplayer shooter experience and it certainly impressed a few fans when it launched in February.

Since then, Turtle Rock Studios has released various free and premium updates and now a fresh one is set to launch today, May 26, across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The patch brings a fresh experience called Arena mode, which adds three domes to each map and emphasizes direct competitive action according to the official website.

Instead of chasing each other, the hunters and the monster are thrown into a dome and tasked with fighting to the death.

Each match takes places through three rounds, in each of the domes. Once a hunter dies, he or she must await the next round, while monsters start at level 2 with 50% armor, for a fair fight.

The whole experience promotes intense combat and you can admire Evolve's Arena mode in action in the special gameplay video below.

The free update containing the experience launches later today, May 26.
