Video game developer and publisher Take Two announce that their upcoming asymmetrical shooter Evolve is at the moment delayed to an unspecified date in 2015, after being initially set to be offered to gamers on October 21 of this year.

Polygon quotes the company as making the announcement during an investor briefing following the reveal of its most recent financial results.

No official reason was offered for the delay of Evolve, but Take Two does say that the extended development time will allow the team at Turtle Rock to improve the overall shooter experience.

The publisher further says that February might be a favorable release window for the title.

Evolve is designed to pit a team of four players who are acting as hunters against one who takes on the role of the monster.

The humans need to work together and use a range of class specific abilities and weapons in order to track the beat and make sure that it is unable to evolve and gain access to its own devastating powers.

At the same time the monster will try to make the team split up in order to take them out one by one.

Evolve will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
