The development team at Sony Online Entertainment working on the upcoming EverQuest Next – Landmark announces that the MMO will feature a new grappling hook which will allow gamers to quickly traverse the world and reach the most difficult to see areas.

The team explains that the new tool is designed to make it easier to explore content and get into areas that would otherwise remain inaccessible.

The grappling hook is important for EverQuest Next – Landmark because the core mechanics of the MMO are focused on the creation of content by the player for the wider community.

Those who enter the game world will get access to many of the tools that Sony Online Entertainment has used in the development process.

They will then be able to use them in order to create backgrounds, complex items and character models that could then be employed in the full release of EverQuest Next.

Landmark is at the moment in closed beta testing and is expected to be launched before the end of this year.

Once gamers become familiar with its mechanics and start to create content, the team at SOE will begin to integrate the title with the full version of EverQuest Next, which is expected to be delivered in early 2015.
