The team at the Paradox Development Studio has been delivering regular updates on the changes it will introduce to Europa Universalis IV via the coming Wealth of Nations expansion and the studio is now offering the first video that shows actual gameplay taken from the experience.

The company states, “Project Lead Thomas Johansson talk about the features of the upcoming Europa Universalis IV-expansion ‘Wealth of Nations’, which focuses on trade and how to make the wealth of the world flow into your coffers.”

It is pretty hard to demo the new features of a grand strategy title using a rather short video, but there are some exciting hints included about the way Europa Universalis IV will work after Wealth of Nations is launched.

The expansion is designed to introduce a set of new mechanics focused on the trade elements, allowing players to use privateers and the new trading companies in order to get a larger revenue from the high seas and their colonies.

At the same time, Paradox Development Studio is introducing a new set of policies that can enhance the powers of a nation for a short time and the ideas for all nations have been significantly tweaked in order to improve gameplay.
