Video game publisher Paradox Interactive announces that it is launching the demo version of Europa Universalis IV, giving fans access to the grand strategy game before it finally launches on August 13.

All the new mechanics of the title are shown in the demo, but no multiplayer is offered.

The demo nations available in the demo are: Venice, the trade empire, The Ottomans, who are more warfare inclined, Portugal, focused on exploration and colonies, and Austria.

Each of them can be played for 28 in-game years and players should also use the extensive hint system in order to learn more about the game and its new features.

The team also announces that Europa Universalis IV will allow for the distribution of mods created by the community via the Steam Workshop service, making it easier than ever to tweak the game experience.

Europa Universalis IV is also designed to offer cross-play capabilities between the PC powered by Windows, Linux and the Mac.
