The team at Paradox Interactive announces that it is planning to launch the Conquest of Paradise expansion for its grand strategy title Europa Universalis IV on January 14 via digital distribution services.

The new content will allow players to experience the thrill of discovering an entirely randomized version of the Americas, while they also play around with the new Native American-focused mechanics and the restless Colonial Nations.

To celebrate the launch, the publisher is also announcing the Rewrite History Short Story Contest that will take place until January 31, 2014.

Gamers can create a narrative of about 5,000 words based on a big historical event between 1444 and 1821 with an ending that varies from the one that happened in real life.

The best three stories will be included in a collection that will be published next year and will benefit from contributions from authors like Harry Turtledove.

The winners will be rewarded both as writers and as gamers with a bundle of more than 50 Paradox published titles.
