It seems that goats are getting an increase in popularity as of late, with Coffee Stain Studio's Goat Simulator stealing the spotlight; yet, it’s not the only game that allows you to gallop and pounce your way around its world.

Magical Time Bean's Escape Goat 2, "a goat-based puzzle platformer," as its developers describe it, is also making its way to the surface of the indie gaming world as a worthy and much improved sequel to 2012's Escape Goat.

Although the first iteration was heavily inspired by the late '80s visual style, the next one features much better looking visuals, keeping of course the pixel art aesthetics and first game's general feel. The graphics have been all hand drawn and animated by Waking Mars visual artist Randy O'Connor.

The effort to deliver a much more ample experience, with a map that features branching pathways and secret passages, with a custom built lighting engine and revamped visuals has paid off, as Escape Goat 2 features over 100 rooms filled with puzzles for players to tackle, set across a total of ten different worlds.

The game will be launched on PC, Mac and Linux on March 24, and pre-orders are available on Escape Goat 2's website, going for $8 / €6, which is 20 percent off the final retail price of $10 / €7.5.

The game will be available worldwide, on either Steam, GoG or the Humble Store.
