Andrei Dumitrescu: My gaming is currently dominated by the beta stage of Football Manager 2014, which I got access to after pre-ordering the video game, as soon as the option was opened by developer Sports Interactive and publisher SEGA.

The simulation is as impressive as ever, even if not too many core features have changed over last year’s version.

I have chosen Liverpool yet again, my favorite team, and I am currently spending my second full season trying to deal with Champions League play while improving my third place in the Premier League.

There are many more options to deal with players, transfers and tactical choices in FM 2014 and gamers who truly want to tweak the performance of their team can easily spend two hours just deciding the best way to use their full back and wingers for the best effect.

When defeat in football stresses me out, I will unwind with some easy and quick strategy gameplay in Total War: Rome II, where I am trying to make the Seleucids a world power.

Andrei Dobra: After going back to Batman: Arkham Asylum and City last weekend, I'm now jumping into the recently released Arkham Origins to see if this new adventure does justice to The Dark Knight, especially since series creator Rocksteady has passed the torch to rookie studio Warner Bros. Montreal.

Based on previous experiences from events like Gamescom 2013, the game looked quite impressive and I'm pretty intrigued to see voice actor Troy Baker interpret the Joker, after two stellar performances in other games this year like Bioshock Infinite or The Last of Us.

When I am not fighting crime in Gotham City, I'll probably jump into Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed, as the kart racing title has gotten me hooked on its great races and mechanics.
