Playing Need for Speed, Crusader Kings II, Counter-Strike and Civilization V

Andrei Dumitrescu: Crusader Kings II remains one of my favorite video games of all time and it feels very much like a new experience with the Sons of Abraham expansion, especially if you choose one of the nations that deals with Crusades or with militant religious orders.

I am still trying to find a way for the Khazar Khanate to survive in the long term as a big, powerful Jewish entity and I am still spreading the power of the Bohemians across Central Europe.

But I have also returned to the Game of Thrones mod for the game and I am happy to report that it has more features and is closer than ever to the world of the books.

Unfortunately, I keep getting Robb Stark dead in a war I am supposed to be winning.

And, speaking of mods, I am also playing the Dungeons & Dragons mod for Civilization V, another staggering work that really manages to bring the source world to life and create some interesting strategy situations along the way.

Andrei Dobra: My weekend is probably going to be filled with more Need for Speed: Rivals, as due to some technical issues, I was unable to actually play it during the past few days. Fortunately, things are better and the timing coincides with the appearance of a workaround that allows the game to run at 60fps, instead of the locked 30fps framerate.

When I am not racing through Redview county, I'll probably go back to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, as the Dreamhack Winter 2013 competition that's currently going on in Sweden has gotten me quite excited about Valve's online shooter.

Last up, I'll probably fire up Gravity Badgers, a small lightweight Angry Birds-like physics game that's just caught my eye on Steam. Seeing as how I love badgers, I'll probably give it a try and see if it's worth my time.
