Playing Battlefield 4, Sniper Elite and Football Manager 2014

Andrei Dumitrescu: I have played quite a bit of Battlefield 4 over the week and that means that I no longer want to see soldiers shooting at each other during the weekend. That’s why I’m returning to the now full version of Football Manager 2014.

I have started a number of campaigns in the Sports Interactive game so far and I find it pretty hard to make Liverpool the European power that it was not so long ago.

I can hold my own in the Premier League and constantly get Champions League spots and sometimes even lead the competition.

But my squad lacks enough depth to remain competitive in two top competitions (three when the League Cup is thrown in) and I sometimes hit patches of bad form that result in me dropping points against small teams like Norwich or Stoke.

This actually reflects real-world situations, but they frustrate me and have sent me to the transfer market where I am currently trying to nab one or two solid players, something which is difficult because of inflated prices.

Andrei Dobra: This weekend will be spent online thanks to the multiplayer modes of quite a few games. First up, there's Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2, which has a special campaign that can be experienced alone or, as recommended, with three other buddies.

When I am not shooting Nazi undead, I'll probably jump back into the multiplayer of Battlefield 4 and shoot regular, present-day soldiers, as well as the various vehicles they'll drive across the huge maps from the new title.

As usual, Battlefield 4's online mode is nothing short of epic in scope and I can see myself spending many hours online from now on.

In case I want a break from all the first-person shooters, I'll probably go to Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, as after finishing the single-player campaign, I really want to spend some more time with the great online mode, particularly the Wolfpack one.
