Playing Diablo III, Game of Thrones, Max Payne 3 and Legends

Andrei Dumitrescu: There are two very different experiences that I plan to spend my weekend with: Max Payne 3 from Rockstar and Take Two and the Game of Thrones role-playing game from Cyanide and Focus Home Interactive.

Max Payne 3 continues to be delightful, even if the slow-motion third-person shooting is becoming a little routine after about 10 hours, because the main character is worth exploring and the game is very well written and gets a lot of material that’s laugh out funny.

Game of Thrones is a more mixed bag, especially for fans who have come to the series via the HBO television show, because it mostly deals with a prequel story and at times the action feels totally removed from the novels, even if the game deals with themes that R.R. Martin also explores.

And, if I get a little time, I will also get back to Dragon Age: Legends, the Facebook game, to see how it looks just as EA is getting ready to close it down.

Andrei Dobra: As you might probably guess, I’m continuing my ongoing adventures with Diablo 3, as I want to progress through levels with my female Monk and male Witch Doctor.

Both characters are quite different from my original Demon Hunter and prove to be even more fun, although I do miss the crossbow wielded by my first character.

I’m quite close to finishing Nightmare so I’m keen on trying out Hell alongside my girlfriend, who’s playing a fierce Monk.

I’ve also started to like the Auction House mechanic, or at least the current in-game gold one, as there are quite a lot of great items for sale and, if priced correctly, you can also get rid of plenty of things you don’t need.

Perhaps once I’ve gotten the Monk and Witch Doctor to respectable levels I might finally try out the Barbarian and Wizard but, at least for now, I want to avoid getting fed up with the Diablo 3 experience.
