Playing Pro Cycling Manager 2014 with some mods

After a week abroad, disconnected from gaming, I need some comfort food in my free time diet and that means I will re-install and play a bit of Pro Cycling Manager 2014, trying to see how the mods for the new season hold up.

The spring classics are now done in the real world and the sport is moving towards Il Giro, the first grand tour of the season and one of the most exciting on paper, judging by the design of the stages.

PCM has never managed to be a perfect sim and it takes work and careful preparation to run a three-week tour that resembles a real one in terms of competition and results.

But it is this unpredictable and sometimes chaotic nature of the video game that makes it so compelling, especially when it is played just as the actual competition is shown on TV.

The development team at Cyanide and publisher Focus Home Interactive have already announced that they are working on a new Pro Cycling Manager 2015 for June, and they promise improved mechanics and some new modes.

The first few screenshots released look good, and it will be interesting to see exactly how the title reflects the realities of the sport.
