Playing Starcraft 2, Tomb Raider, God of War and Warhammer 40,000

Andrei Dumitrescu: The next installment in the Starcraft 2 saga was launched earlier during the week and that means it’s time to dive back into the convoluted story that Blizzard has created and try out a little multiplayer before the hardcore learns all the new tricks introduced by Heart of the Swarm.

The game is pretty cool, although it lacks any big innovation when compared to Wings of Liberty and I find that Sarah Kerrigan is an interesting character that’s worthy of more exploration.

When I tire of real-time strategy and extensive polish, I plan to return to one game where I can actually be competitive in multiplayer, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution.

The game is pretty old, but I like the core structure of its multiplayer modes and I will spend most of my weekend relearning long-lost tactics with my beloved Space Marines.

If I have any time left, I will invest in the Game of Thrones Ascent, which at the moment is tackling the second book in the series.

Andrei Dobra: This weekend, I won't be jumping into any new experiences, so I'm going to kick back and enjoy some quality time with a few more recent titles, starting with God of War: Ascension, as its multiplayer has really gotten me hooked on the online mode.

While the competitive mode can be quite difficult, especially if you get paired up with high-level enemies, the cooperative Trials of the Gods mode is a fun experience, especially when playing alongside your friends.

When I am not hacking and slashing my way through God of War: Ascension, I'm probably going to jump back into Tomb Raider and try to gather every collectible on the huge island. I rushed through many areas in order to complete the game on my first playthrough, so now I want to take my time and enjoy the gorgeous action adventure experience made by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix.
