Playing Endless Space, Orc Must Die 2, Mass Effect 3, Sword of Islam

Andrei Dumitrescu: The golden period for cycling in 2012 is now over and that means I can direct my attention to other gaming experiences that I might have neglected and spend my gaming time doing something else than simply watching athletes turn wheels at high speed.

I am still going to play a little Pro Cycling Manager 2012, where I have taken my custom team into the Procontinental division for its second year of existence and I am currently working on getting some much needed Classics victories.

But I plan to devote the bulk of my free time to the Sword of Islam expansion for Crusader Kings II, which allows players to engage with the world as Muslim rulers, and see how the dynamics of the grand strategy game have changed.

When I have time I might also give Endless Space, the recently launched 4X space strategy, a try, because it’s part of a genre that has always fascinated me.

Andrei Dobra: This weekend will be spent in the company of Mass Effect 3, as I’m doing my part during Operation Overwatch and taking the characters that I’ve unlocked from the Earth DLC into several matches in order to help complete both the squad and the allied goal.

While I unlocked almost all of the things from the DLC, there are still some that elude me, including the Shadow Infiltrator character and the Typhoon assault rifle, so I want to earn as many credits as possible in order to buy Premium Spectre Packs.

When I won’t be shooting my way all around the galaxy, I’ll probably indulge a bit more in the Orcs Must Die 2 demo, which is now available on Steam. I already pre-ordered the game, so until Monday, when it’s officially out, I’m going to satisfy my Orc-killing urges with the short trial.
