Playing King Arthur, Nuclear Dawn, Rochard, Bastion

Andrei Dumitrescu: The first big game for the year to me is King Arthur II – The Role-playing Wargame and the launch is scheduled for next week so I have a plan to reinstall the original game in the series and play it a little in order to get a better feel of how the team at Neocore Games has managed to improve on it for the sequel.

The King Arthur formula is similar to that of the Total War series, with a more streamlined strategic map, some more role playing game elements and more decisive battles and I always had a soft spot for fantasy and medieval Britain so King Arthur II might end up being a big long term game for me.

Other than strategy I plan to get back into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and start up another character to get through some of the game while also mopping up a few last quests using my trusty Argonian.

Andrei Dobra: I finally got a chance to finish the stunning Bastion this week, so the weekend will probably see me spend some time with a few other games I neglected in recent times.

The Steam winter sale, as well as other indie bundles, have given me plenty of quality downloadable games, so I’m more than looking forward to at least trying them out.

These include quite a few strategy titles, like Sanctum, Revenge of the Titans, or Nuclear Dawn, as after I finished Defense Grid: The Awakening’s You Monster DLC, I’ve been left with a craving for some more tower defense experiences.

When I won’t be testing my strategy skills, I might engage in some other arcade games, including Renegade Ops, which is a blast when playing with friends, or Rochard, the great looking 2D side-scrolling puzzle platformer from Recoil Games.
