Playing Football Manager 2015 to start the year right

It’s a new year but I have no plans to try something new when it comes to my free time, and I will use the coming weekend to play more Football Manager 2015 and to maybe get through another season of my current campaign.

The Sports Interactive title encourages two very different approaches: one focused on depth, which has the player focus on one team and try to control it for a lot of the season, and another linked to breadth, which tends to result in one season being played with a wider range of clubs.

There was a time when I favored the second way of enjoying Football Manager, but as I grow older and my free time dwindles, I understand better the wisdom of following the first.

I have restarted my Liverpool campaign a few times already and I am now in my sixth year as a manager on my third or fourth try.

The club has not been as successful as I expected and I narrowly missed two Premier League titles in my last two seasons while bagging a domestic cup and the Europa League.

But I want more and I believe that my current squad has the depth required to go all the way, and that places more pressure than before on my management skills for the coming weekend.
