I enjoyed my final two vacation days of the year by staying at home and playing more Dragon Age: Inquisition than I had since I reviewed the game and I feel like I might finally be ready to break up with the game.
There’s plenty more to see in the world of Thedas as created by BioWare and there are some lines that I would like to test on the various characters that I am meeting, but the core gameplay is beginning to show its limits.
The exploration and the combat work well at first but they tend to become a little too repetitive, even if playing as a mage has changed up the formula somewhat during the last 30 or 40 hours of game time.
So I plan to make a final push and finish the core story once more this weekend and then I will probably only return to Dragon Age: Inquisition once some big single-player downloadable content for it is launched.
If I manage to get through the final battles quickly, I plan to spend more time with This War of Mine, the anti-war experience from 11 bit Studios, trying to find more of the survivors and finding a way to make sure that my characters have food, alcohol and cigarettes at the same time, even if for just one day.
