Andrei Dumitrescu: Christmas and its culinary excesses are now behind me and I plan to play the eating less real-world game for the next three days in order to feel more prepared for the coming New Year’s Eve and its associated celebrations.

Safely back in my own home, I plan to engage in a game that relies heavily on snow during its crucial moments, Unity of Command using the Black Turn expansion.

The German invasion of Russia in 1941 is one of the dream scenarios of wargaming fans and I have experienced it in both Hearts of Iron and Gary Grisby’s War in the East before.

But Unity of Command has a level of elegance and attention to details that I love and I plan to replay the scenario in order to try and improve on the performance of the German general staff.

At the same time, I will also run a few matches in Football Manager 2014, in order to honor the sacrifice of footballers in the Premier League who are offering us cool games during this holiday period.

Andrei Dobra: My weekend is going to be filled with quite a few interesting games, as I snapped up a few more titles during the ongoing Steam Winter Sale of 2013.

First up, I'll try out Trackmania 2 Stadium, as I've yet to experience the new wave of games in Ubisoft's racing series.

When I am not tearing it up on all sorts of stadium tracks, I'll probably jump into Rogue Legacy, as I also got the indie roguelike title during the sale.

I have already started my own legacy in the puzzle platformer and I look forward to seeing what sort of offspring will continue my journey in the challenging castle.

Last but not least, I also got the Saints Row 4 Season Pass, so I'll try out the two different expansions for the game, in the form of Enter the Dominatrix and How the Saints Save Christmas.
