Patrick Soderlund, one of the leaders of the EA Games label, says that his team aims to create new Star Wars-based titles that will impress even the most reluctant of fans when launched.

He tells Polygon that “The most important thing for me is that we take the Star Wars license and come up with games where peoples’ jaws drop.”

He says that one example of how the game will look and feel is the Batman series from Warner Bros, which dispelled the myth that a good game featuring the Dark Knight was impossible.

Soderlund adds, “We’re looking at the old games. We have access to everything that was done during the LucasArts era.”

At the moment, DICE is working on Star Wars: Battlefront, but no details have been offered yet on the story or the mechanics of the title.

BioWare and other studios at Electronic Arts are also working on new Star Wars games.
