Jeff Brown, the senior vice president in charge of corporate communication at publisher Electronic Arts, has left the video game company after a 14-year career in order to link up with camera maker GoPro.

The executive was best known for his aggressive style of responding to crises and served the industry well when a controversy arose over nudity included in Mass Effect 2.

Brown was willing to take on Fox New and request that the news channel clarify its reports to make it clear that the video game did not violate any rules.

He is quoted by Polygon as saying that, “When I started, I thought it would be a 12-month gig. I had no intention of staying that long. I fell in love with games, and I have a lot of close friends at EA. I am completely supportive of Andrew. But it was a good time for me to say goodbye.”

Interestingly, GoPro will soon be linked to game consoles as it aims to launch a dedicated content channel on the Xbox One and the 360 from Microsoft.
