Players need to be convinced that they are getting a quality experience

Andre Wilson, the new chief executive officer at publisher Electronic Arts, says that customer satisfaction with a video game increases when the player feels that the quality of the experience is greater than the price he paid for it.

He tells Kotaku that, “if you’re asking for an investment from the consumer in dollars and time, make sure they feel like they’re stealing from you and that they are getting the best end of that deal and the rest will follow. And that will be our philosophy.”

He was answering questions about how EA planned to shed the image of Worst Company in America.

The publisher has a number of high profile series, from Battlefield to FIFA, but also releases smaller games that often fail to deliver the quality fans are looking for.

Recently, EA has announced that it is canceling the rebooted Command & Conquer because of concerns over the quality of the experience coming from the alpha test community.
