Video game publisher Electronic Arts says that rumors regarding the cancelation of the Dead Space series are false and that the company still has long-term plans for the universe.

A spokesperson from EA tells PSU that “While we have not released sales data for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the game and it continues to be an important IP to EA.”

A source has previously claimed that Dead Space 4 had been canceled because of poor sales for the most recent adventure starring Isaac Clarke.

Dino Ignacio, a user interface developer at Visceral Games, also denies that the series is dead.

Electronic Arts has previously suggested that the franchise might change its core mechanics in the near future and that games with protagonists other than Clarke might be created.
