The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda announce that the North American mega-server for their MMO The Elder Scrolls Online is at the moment down for maintenance and it’s unclear when it might be up and running again.

The official Twitter feed of the game says that the downtime started at 1 AM Eastern Daylight Time, which is 10 PM on April 1 Pacific Time and 5 AM Greenwich Mean Time.

The official status of the North American mega-server for The Elder Scrolls Online will be updated on the official support page of the title and European gamers should not be affected in any way by the downtime.

The two companies have already announced that they are planning to run regular periods of maintenance on the MMO in order to make sure that all features run as they should, although not all of them might be actually used.

The Elder Scrolls Online is at the moment only accessible for those who have secured early access and the general population will be able to play it on the PC starting on April 4.

Those who own an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4 will also get access to the MMO at some point during early summer.
