The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda announce that they are launching a new maintenance period for The Elder Scrolls Online and that the North American mega-server is at the moment down.

The official announcement does not state for how long the MMO will be inaccessible in the territory or exactly what changes are being implemented during this time.

The Elder Scrolls Online will also bring down its European server for maintenance in the coming 24-hour period in order to perform a similar set of changes, but the timeframe is not yet known.

The game was delivered in early April on the PC and is currently using a subscription-driven model.

Bethesda also has plans to launch the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions of The Elder Scrolls Online in early June, but a delay has been recently rumored.

The MMO takes players to Tamriel and allows them to pick their race and their alliance as they battle for control of the continent, while also exploring quests that will stop the evil plans of a Daedra.

Bethesda and ZeniMax Online have said that they have long-term plans to add more content to The Elder Scrolls Online in the long term, with a focus on quality.
