The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda announce that the North American mega-server for their recently launched The Elder Scrolls Online is now down for maintenance as the two companies are pushing out patch 1.0.8.

The official announcement explains that, “During this time, we will be pushing v1.0.8 and will also be doing some backend work. Because of this, we expect maintenance to last slightly longer than usual. We'll publish the patch notes during the maintenance, and will let everyone know as soon as the server is back up for you to play.”

The developers will then take down the European servers of The Elder Scrolls Online for a similar maintenance period.

It’s unclear exactly when full patch notes for 1.0.8 will be delivered.

ZeniMax Online has already explained that it aims to first eliminate all critical bugs from the MMO in order to make sure that players can progress through the most important quest chains.

Only then will the studio focus on creating more content for the title and on the deployment of any new mechanics.

The Elder Scrolls Online is playable on the PC and recently, Bethesda has announced that it will be delayed on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
