The development team at CCP working on the MMO EVE Online announces that it is ready to expand the universe of the game into new mediums.

The team will work with Dark Horse to make comics based on the game and on its Dust 514 companion and with filmmaker Baltasar Kormakur to create a television series.

EVE: Source is the first comic book project. It is set to arrive in the winter of 2013 and it will give fans a new look at the lore of the MMO, with new information linked to races, factions and backstory.

Dark Horse will also create a series based on player-submitted stories, designed to show off the most interesting experiences in EVE.

The television series will also be inspired by stories from the community of MMO players.

Baltasar Kormakur has debuted on the big screen with Contraband and is currently working on a Denzel Washington project called 2 Guns.
