After taking down North America West 1 and 2 servers yesterday, EA and Maxis have just announced the East 1 is currently going under maintenance for the next couple of hours or maybe less.

For the time being, information is scarce but developers announced the maintenance is necessary in order to upgrade the server’s hardware.

According to an official tweet: “we're temporarily taking down NA East 1 for a hardware upgrade. In the meantime, hop on to our other servers.” So stay tuned for more info on this one.

In related news, it appears that EA is about to solve all connectivity issues with SimCity, as players report fewer and fewer downtime.

Obviously, not all is well, but the company works diligently to address all these connectivity problems experienced by players in North America.

UPDATE: The server is back up but according to EA due to high volume traffic there is a wait before players can log in. Players can check the status of their servers here.
