Gamers will be able to play as the Father of Mixed Martial Arts

The EA Sports made UFC title that has long been in development will apparently be launched on both the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony on June 17, with all those who are willing to pre-order the game offered access to Bruce Lee as a playable character.

The information comes from the Twitter account of AllGamesBeta, which has an image of the game from a retailer.

Bruce Lee is referred to as the Father of Mixed Martial Arts by the promotional content.

EA Sports has not offered any comment on the revealed launch date for its UFC title, but has previously said that release is set to take place before the end of spring.

The title is powered by the new Ignite engine and the developers have promised that they will deliver a very realistic experience that simulates the unique moves and tactics employed in the real-world sport.

The game started out life under the guidance of publisher THQ and was bought when the company went bankrupt.

EA Sports UFC is designed to allow gamers to create their own customized fighter, but there are no plans to allow them to be shared with the wider community because of copyright issues.

UPDATE: The company has confirmed the addition of Bruce Lee and offered more details.
