Tecmo Koei has announced that Omega Force's Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition will be released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on April 4.

A standalone expansion version of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends for the PlayStation 3 home entertainment system will also be launched at the same date, on April 4.

The Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition packs together the original Dynasty Warriors 8 and its expansion Xtreme Legends, and includes support for cross-save, meaning that PS3 saves can be continued on either the PS4 or PS Vita and vice-versa.

The Xtreme Legends expansion brings five new playable characters, the Ultimate difficulty level and additional episodes in the story of Lu Bu.

The game is based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms historical novel, and it features more than 80 playable characters and fast-paced combo-based hack-and-slash action.

There is no word on an Xbox 360 release for the expansion, although Dynasty Warriors 8 is available on the platform.
