Sony has altered the terms of the agreement in regards to the Driveclub PS Plus Edition upgrade, confirming that access to the full game will remain in place after the subscription runs out.

Driveclub finally got an October release date last week and, at the beginning of this week, Sony and Evolution Studios confirmed the full list of details concerning the free Driveclub PS Plus edition, which includes a limited number of cars or tracks, although the same amount of features.

For PS Plus subscribers who want the full experience, a special upgrade was also confirmed for 50 USD/EUR, which would turn the experience into the full game.

However, while it would have all the content in the actual game, access to it was ensured only through a Plus subscription.

This generated a huge controversy, with PS4 owners saying that they wouldn't want to support the game if such a restrictive policy was in place.

Now, after promising that it will look into the controversial matter, Sony has confirmed via Twitter that the upgrade is no longer tied to an active PS Plus subscription.

As such, if you have a Plus membership, you can get the Driveclub PS Plus edition for free and the upgrade for 50 USD/EUR. After that, you can play the full game without a Plus subscription.
