Finnish developer Tribe Studios has announced that its upcoming title Dramagame: Velvet Sundown will be entering a closed beta period starting Monday, February 3, 2014.

Dramagame: Velvet Sundown brings a fascinating mix of social elements and serious, mature role-playing game elements, allowing its players to fully live out their soap opera fantasy.

All in-game characters will have real people behind them, each with their own motivation and personality, and the gameplay will depend entirely on the negotiating and social interaction skills of each individual player.

Players are assigned one of 11 different characters, each with his own background story, as well as randomly assigned various tasks to fulfill. Players can allow their imagination to fly free in living out their character's story, and to convince other players to follow their suggestions.

Thanks to the innovative text-to-speech feature, all text entered by players will be converted to spoken word in real-time, making for a more immersive experience.

Individual multiplayer sessions will typically take around 45 minutes, but thanks to the Dramagame engine's robust possibilities, there are millions of story variations that can occur, offering a different and unique experience every time.

Interested gamers can sign up for the upcoming beta on Dramagame: Velvet Sundown's website.
