The role-playing game is coming out on May 20/21/22, for the PlayStation 3

Square Enix is preparing to launch Drakengard 3 soon, and as such, it has unveiled the next excerpts from the Drakengard 3 prequel novella, and has released a new video interview with Art Director Kimihiko Fujisaka.

The game's website has been updated with chapters two, three, four and five of the novella, delving into the background of each character's namesake in order to set the scene for the upcoming game.

As a bonus, players who pre-order Drakengard 3 through the Square Enix Online Store between now and its launch date, including those who have already pre-ordered it, will receive six free PlayStation Network themes featuring Zero, her dragon Mikhail, and the four disciples: Cent, Octa, Decadus and Dito.

Additionally, pre-orders made through Amazon.com and other participating retailers will allow players to get their hands on three downloadable costume variations for Zero.

Dragkengard 3 is available for pre-order for $50, as well as in the form of a digital download on the PlayStation Store. The game is also available for pre-order on Amazon and at other participating retailers.

Square Enix has also released a developer interview with Kimihiko Fujisaka, Drakengard 3's art director, talking about the inspiration behind the game's central characters and the game design process in general.

The title is scheduled to come out in North America on May 20, on May 21 in Europe and in Australia and PAL territories on May 22, exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
