Yoko Taro, the director of Drakengard 3, made a few interesting reveals in a series of Twitter and Facebook posts, detailing future plans and concerns.

Taro sounded enthusiastic regarding the Drakengard series, but acknowledged the upcoming difficulties related to giving fans what they want.

In response to a request for Drakengard 3 for the PlayStation 4, he said that although he hoped he would be able to make the game for the PS4, he lacked the funds to do so for the moment.

He also pointed out that he couldn't turn to Kickstarter or other crowdfunding options, because publisher Square Enix holds the right to the Drakengard IP. Square Enix has apparently not allocated enough resources for the new game to also be developed for next-gen platforms.

Yoko Taro has also announced that he will be making something new this year, along with stating his desire to make a PS Vita spin-off using the same engine, when he gets the chance.

Drakengard 3 has just been released in Japan under the title Drag-On Dragoon 3, and is pending a western release some time during 2014.
