The Japanese division of publisher Square Enix has announced that it plans to launch Dragon Quest X on the home market for the Nintendo Wii home console on August 2, with a Wii U version also set to arrive at a later date.

The core game is set to cost 6,980 Yen (the equivalent of 85.99 dollars or 65 Euro) and there’s also an option to get the title bundled with a USB memory card for 8,980 Yen.

The initial purchase also entitles players to 20 days of online play.

Subscriptions for Dragon Quest X will be offered for lengths of 30, 60 or 90 days and will cost 1,000, 1,950 or 2,900 Yen (12,32, 24 or 35.7 dollars).

Dragon Quest X is not a traditional MMO, but the development team has suggested that anyone who is interested in making past the first few hours of the game will need to be connected.

The game is in beta at the moment.
