Video game publisher Capcom has announced a Special Edition for Dragon’s Dogma to be offered on the Japanese market.

Its content will include a monster statue modeled after one of the in-game enemies, a booklet detailing the art, a bookmark, a nicely crafted box and a code which will allow gamers to pick up premium downloadable content that will be released after the launch of the game.

The game is unusual for a Japanese role-playing game because it uses an open world and will focus on the relation between the main character and a dragon that literally steals his heart.

The game will allow players to recruit companies from the games of their friends in an innovative multiplayer mechanic.

Dragon’s Dogma will be launched first on the North America market, on May 22 of the year, with Japanese gamers getting it two days later and those in Europe having to wait until May 25.

The game will be offered only on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
