Zither, the mage musician that's just been released for Dragon Age: Inquisition's multiplayer mode, has just received a behind the scenes video showing just how his unique gameplay mechanics were created and implemented by BioWare's audio design team.

Dragon Age: Inquisition launched last November and brought, besides its single-player story campaign, a cooperative multiplayer one with a varied cast of characters including warriors, mages, and rogues.

On April 1, BioWare mentioned as an April Fools that it's going to debut a new multiplayer character called Zither, a mage musician who uses his lute to take down dragons.

While everyone thought the studio was joking, it wasn't, as Zither joins Isabella and an Avvar warrior in the Dragonslayer expansion that's just been released for Inquisition earlier this week.

He brings new mechanics, as players must combine his lute's chords to unleash abilities, and actually creating them was a pretty tough endeavor for BioWare's audio design team.

You can check out the creation process in the brand new behind-the-scenes video released by the studio, depicting plenty of gameplay footage with Zither as the main focus, but also lots of interesting glimpses at how the sound was recorded, modified, and enhanced for use in the role-playing experience.
