The development team at BioWare continues to tease the various environments that gamers will be able to explore in the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition with the reveal of the Western Approach area, which is described as arid, dangerous and corrupt.

This comes after the fans were able to take a look at both the Dales where the elves once lived and the snowy Emprise du Lion.

BioWare has explained that the use of the new Frostbite 3 engine from DICE gives it the tools required to create a wide variety of areas for the player to explore and battle through.

Each of them will include various castles and outposts that players can conquer and use to enhance the power of the Inquisition that they are leading.

The new Dragon Age game is set to offer the same freedom as Origins and a new and interesting set of combat mechanics.

The main plot will focus on a tear in the Fade, which is allowing demons to enter the world and needs to be closed down, but side quests will also deal with the fallout of the battles between the Chantry, the Mages and the Templars.

Launch will take place on October 7 of this year on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, the PC and current-gen consoles.
