The developers at BioWare announce that they are launching a new multiplayer event for Dragon Age: Inquisition which is encouraging all interested gamers to use swords and mauls in order to take out enemies so that they can in the end gain access to a Commendation Chest reward package.

The official announcement offers some lore-based explanations for the event, focused on an alliance with Count Rugen of Nevarra, and researcher Helisma and her need of samples from wounds.

The developers say that gamers have until January 19 at 5 AM Pacific Standard Time to take out 100 enemies with mauls, swords, or both.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is running multiplayer events in order to keep the community engaged with the mode in the long term.

BioWare has also suggested that it is planning to expand the game in the coming months with new maps and might even introduce new classes, even if it is at the moment unclear whether they are designed to be free for all gamers or need to be bought with in-game currency.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a sprawling title with a lot of quests to complete, but the company will probably also deliver single-player downloadable content, although no official plans have been revealed so far.
