The Last of Us: Left Behind, the special story-based expansion for the survival game from Naughty Dog and Sony, is finally available for download worldwide on the PlayStation 3 platform.

The Last of Us appeared last summer exclusively for the PS3 and delivered a great single-player story campaign focusing on survivors Joel and Ellie, but also an addictive multiplayer mode that emphasized crafting and working as a team.

Now, after launching several multiplayer add-ons, developer Naughty Dog has rolled out today, February 14, the first and only single-player story-based expansion, in the form of Left Behind.

The DLC is a prologue to the main campaign and sees Ellie team up with another small girl, Riley, and explore a brand new environment filled with all sorts of dangers.

The add-on is already available via the PlayStation Store worldwide and weighs in at 5GB, according to the official blog.

It's free for Season Pass owners, while regular users need to pay.
