Nintendo has just rolled out yet another firmware update for the 3DS handheld platform, this time taking its software up to version 5.1.0 and solving a key issue that prevented users from accessing key areas like the system settings, the eShop or Game Notes.

Nintendo updated its 3DS firmware a few weeks ago by releasing software version 5.0.0, which added a variety of new features to the small handheld platform.

Sadly, it seems that the firmware update also caused a few new issues, including a particularly pesky glitch that didn't allow owners of the console to access areas like System Settings, eShop, or Game Notes.

Fortunately, Nintendo worked fast and has confirmed on its website that 3DS firmware update 5.1.0 is now available for download around the world.

The update solves the pesky issue and should ensure smooth performance for the 3DS after it's applied to it.
