The development team at Double Fine reveals that it is working on a new project called Massive Chalice, which will combine turn-based tactics mechanics and fantasy based on a feudal kingdom.

The team says on the recently launched Kickstarter that it is inspired by titles like X-COM, Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics and that the experience will be epic and will allow players to control generations of heroes as they battle a demon invasion.

In Massive Chalice, gamers will be able to conduct research, make choices, arrange marriages and control their heroes in order to keep their kingdom safe.

Double Fine says that most content will be randomized and that Massive Chalice will include elements taken from the roguelike genre.

The Kickstarter for Massive Chalice already has more than 7,000 backers who have given one third of the 720,000 dollars (510,000 Euro) that Double Fine is asking for.
