Double Fine Productions, the independent developer owned by designer Tim Schafer, is still keen on acquiring the full rights for the Stacking and Costume Quest titles, which were sold to Nordic Games after THQ's bankruptcy.

Double Fine partnered with THQ back in 2010 and 2011 to release Stacking and Costume Quest, two downloadable titles for PS3 and Xbox 360.

THQ's rights to gather all the profit attained by the two titles on those consoles were recently acquired by Nordic Games at a bankruptcy auction.

Double Fine still owns the intellectual properties, but Schafer confirmed to Polygon that he still wants to buy the remaining rights just to make sure the developer owns every part of them.

According to Schafer, it's "an emotional attachment — more of a mission of Double Fine to own everything that we make. It's, like, this loose end that kind of bothers me that we'd like to tie up."

The designer declined to comment if Double Fine is in talks with Nordic about the rights.
