Doom was the first video game shown during Bethesda's press conference at E3 2015, and the most interesting element of the game was the multiplayer, which is designed to offer a classic take on the arena-based shooter experience.

The footage shows both the power of the new id Tech 6 engine and the way the team at id Software is trying to make sure that gameplay remains fast and focused on positioning and on solid choice of weaponry.

The new Doom will also introduce a new Snapmap tool for the multiplayer side of the game.

id Software says that it is designed to allow players to create new maps by simply using drag and drop to shape the battlefield as they see fit.

The same tool can also be used to share the complete levels and all the new modes with the rest of the community quickly and without any complications.

Doom is set to be introduced on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 at some point during the spring of 2016.

The single-player of the shooter will take gamers back to Mars, where they will once again have to battle demonic hordes using a wide array of high-powered weaponry.
