Nintendo has just offered some fresh details about its upcoming Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, which is set to appear for the 3DS at the end of May, and has confirmed that it features eight bonus levels as well as a new, much easier gameplay difficulty.

Donkey Kong Country Returns appeared back in 2010 for the Wii and now Nintendo wants to bring the platforming experience to the 3DS through a special re-release.

Besides featuring the same content from the Wii version, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D also has eight bonus levels within a new world that can only be accessed after completing the game.

The title features an easier difficulty setting as well, which should certainly help players new to the franchise and those who found the Wii edition a bit too challenging.

You can check out a new gameplay video from Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D above, as well as a few new screenshots below.
